The earliest accounts of coffee all refer to its being a native of this region of old Abyssina. Eithopia is a significant producer of coffee, both in quantity and quality. It is still managing to export some of the world’s finest and most individual coffees, some of which have a very low natural caffeine content. Some of the best know Ethiopian coffees are Djimmah Ghimbi, Lekempti, Harrar, Limu, and Yergascheffe because of their unique, wonderfully delicate flavours.
